At what point do you forget you're an ALPA member and lose all sense of unity with your fellow pilots?
And again we see the constant boasting about how we're the biggest and most prepared international carrier in the world, while simultaneously saying getting rid of involuntary FSB or capping short calls will destroy the airline.
I'm glad he also reminded us the importance of seeing his family while the rest of us will be enduring a summer travel season full of reassignments and rolled days.
At this point if you're not wearing the lanyard I'm assuming you're willing to take any offer management throws out and agree with BQ's quote from the title of this thread. I'm tired of the BS excuses. The most common being:
"I don't wear lanyards"
You can wear your badge clip and an empty lanyard.
"they're cheap"
I have the original for 6 months that hasn't broken. I feel like this is just a phrase that's been regurgitated because a few people posted pictures of theirs breaking. If you want to continue to wear your college football lanyard that badly, then wear them both.
"I don't engage in company politics"
This is the life and livelihood for you and your family. This isn't politics!
"I can't find a lanyard"
This is the biggest BS one of all. If you can't "find" a lanyard, I assume that means you haven't tried to find one, haven't checked your mailbox, or you expect someone to personally serve you one on a silver platter.
I had Delta pilots, who have already secured the best contract in the industry, at our picket standing side by side with us wearing our lanyard. If they can do it, there's not a single valid excuse every United pilot can't.

I take what he said as a good thing, although it’s obviously not how he meant it. Unlike the previous MEC, our new group is standing firm. The company really does want a quick deal as long as it is current book with Delta rates, but ALPA won’t let them.

The reassignments and rolling into days off are already here. Bid for days off and got them. Reassigned into 2 days into my requested and awarded days off. Missed major events. Thanks United. Time that is unrecoverable. I should have had the option to say no. They are rolling 20% reserves and I absolutely do not believe they didn’t have coverage somewhere else.
What is the point of bidding for days off if they can unilaterally screw you later? Absolute garbage. This new contract can’t come soon enough.
Dear United, every night before I go to bed, I put on makeup and a dress and make a list of micro and macro agressors in lipstick. Imma add this to the list. When it comes time to help the company, I probably won’t be there. Thanks.
Signed,
Crazy Person
Rah rah ALPA or something.

Their words “we don’t want you to schedule 6 days in a row because we want to be able to move your FDO…”
Now I had to come up to base to sit SC for 1 night over a 2-day period….

To get back on topic, I agree that we are moving at the speed ALPA allows and I don’t think that’s a problem, so long as ALPA plays our cards correctly.

We are moving as fast as ALPA will let us
Yeah, I read that and was immediately disgusted.
