Covid MOU terminated, absence monitor on
1. The Company will cease providing paid drops based on the MOU.
The 32 "Long-Haul" COVID pilots will have their June pre-blocks changed from paid drops (PDCV) to sick drops.
If needed, these pilots will transition to Long Term Disability using a date of disability that allows them to access the higher cap from LOA 20-05.
2. All future COVID cases will be treated as normal sick events (i.e., no more restoration of sick for a positive COVID diagnosis).
Pilots will not be able to use sick leave for household members exhibiting flu-like symptoms.
3. The Company will reinstate Absence Monitoring effective immediately.
All pilots will start over with a clean attendance record (i.e., no lookback).
ALPA is expiditing arbitration to fight this.

OMG absent monitoring! I am so afraid of Larry telling me I am sick too often, not! sorry FARs, sick don't fly.
This is totally their trying to cover the summer flying and threatening the pilots. NOTHING to do with COVID going away, but is good timing for the company. PLEASE do not fly sick. All you do is get the other pilot you are working with sick as well!

I can’t believe any of the previous replies above addressed the fact that this is a violation of our agreement. Doesn’t matter what your view on COVID or AMS is, this is a pretty clear violation of the literal interpretation of our MOU.
Looking forward to ALPA fighting this one.
