IOW, company illegally terminated a contractual benefit preparing to intimidate pilots (especially new hires) against calling in sick during the upcoming summer season, but we should all be glad because- Anthony Fauci, I guess.

The 32 "Long-Haul" COVID pilots will have their June pre-blocks changed from paid drops (PDCV) to sick drops.
If needed, these pilots will transition to Long Term Disability using a date of disability that allows them to access the higher cap from LOA 20-05.

2. All future COVID cases will be treated as normal sick events (i.e., no more restoration of sick for a positive COVID diagnosis).
Pilots will not be able to use sick leave for household members exhibiting flu-like symptoms.

3. The Company will reinstate Absence Monitoring effective immediately.
All pilots will start over with a clean attendance record (i.e., no lookback).

ALPA is expiditing arbitration to fight this.
I've never seen so many pilots complain about free money with 10 days of paid leave.

Do you mean the complaints about the unilateral cancelation of the MOU by the company despite the actual language within?

No, all the pilots in this thread talking about how it's a good thing the MOU ended because they can't get over covid politics.

Pretty obvious this is the driving factor. Delayed negotiations going into the summer have the company concerned about low motivation leading to increased sick calls. The MOU basically leaves them unable to intimidate us against calling in sick, so they want it gone. Doctors notes will be next.

Forget the politics. This has nothing to do with COVID & everything to do with going outside the contract to exercise more control over scheduling. Their eagerness to disregard our legally binding agreements is telling. This should bother everyone.

Focus, people! This is about how the company is unilaterally terminating an agreed upon MOU without meeting the criteria clearly spelled out in said MOU. The rest of this thread is just noise. Kirby is NOT your friend, and is driving this.

It's almost like they want to rile us up.
