If you live in MCO and don’t intend to leave, UAL is the better choice because you live in base vs a career of commuting by air. You’ll have the option to commute to wide body for periods of time but can still spend as much of your career living in base as you want to as long as you’re willing to fly the 737.

Delta, 100%. They will always make more, always have better work rules, better QOL, more affordable domiciles. About all UAL offers is more variety in WB flying, but even that gets old after a while. You’re mil so I assume you’ve made it around and value your time home more than anything else, well reserve goes senior at DAL. At United it’s a punishment.
Don’t let an MCO base tempt you. It’s a 737 base only, probably won’t be much more if it even survives the next down turn. It’s new, it’s small, it’s a trial run.

But tell that to our guys that we’re getting furloughed for a second time…..
…….meanwhile, the now combined Delta south/north didn’t furlough a SINGLE PILOT.

United's "liquidation" was the decades long rumor that never happened despite them being denied an ATSB (Air transportation stabilization board) loan post 9/11 fallout by uncle sugar. This whole industry is cyclical, but UAL historically has set the example for highs/lows in those cycles. Lets hope the well paid managers have a better idea on how to level the highs and lows to keep a more even keeled industry going forward.

So I have a question, if you go in indoc then at the end you leave. I assume it will be on your PRIA?
I have heard people leaving during indoc or after indoc, and still get hired by the competitor.
Can someone confirm this please?
