Thanks CA obvious, it was mostly a joke.

A previous employer I worked for had it in the FOM that if your medical required you to use corrective lenses, you had to have a back up/spare set. I don’t claim to be an expert, FAR require it also? No matter, I’ve always carried extra.

Weird, between all the training events there, 6 month PC’s/line checks (probably 20 in total?) only one, ONE needed to see my back up set.

And he was for sure the type that liked to measure…..

It also says in the FOM you have to wear your hat. If you don't have your hat during the time of the year when it's required, could you fail a line check for that too?

Exceeding aircraft limitations or busting FARs is one thing, having your certificate and livelihood fked with for not following some stupid @ss company directive that has nothing to do with aviation safety is opening the door for some real clown world bs.

I’ve worn glasses my entire career. Having a spare pair is in our FOM too, and I don’t recall ever being asked. Don’t think I’ve ever had a full documents check either, both at TK and on the line.

I had an overachiever tell me that he was considering turning in FO’s for showing up without their hat. He quoted the notification requirement to gain authorization from the FODM to continue with a pilot “out of standard uniform”. He must have been fun to fly with.🙄

Ironically, got asked for my second pair during a check by the French Federales! The whole thing wasn't going good between the Capt and the senior Fed.. as it happens, the other Fed was an Ex French Air Force enlisted dude and once we started talking (as a USAF sweatie), the attitudes changed and in the end- all good.

There will ALWAYS be that 10% that has to prove a point- Kinda like the FCC License. Never needed to show it at the "other" Legacy, but here- we do!
or
Kinda like that CCS msg about walk arounds. Who knew that SouthWest wasn't required to do one?

Motch

A lot of the new hires hats are on backorder. He'd look like a bigger fool than he already is.

So, probably another guy that likes to engage in measuring?

Are you picking up on what I was getting at in my first post? Or just pivoting like a dullard?

exactly… no harm no foul for following the checklist. If it’s in the FoM as a requirement my guess is it’s still company policy to be vaccinated.

fly thru BRU… they’ll want to see both sets before they have you blow into the breathalyzer.

I get that some like to measure and try to make small things into a big deal, but simply checking requirements on a list isn’t exactly measuring. Making a spectacle out of it would be a different matter.
