In that case, I am glad it is real.

Default JP Morgan Picket

Then the next day.

United Pilots and colleagues from other pilot unions made an unannounced visit to the JP Morgan Chase headquarters on Madison Avenue this morning. The picket was timed to coincide with JP Morgan's investor's call about United.

We want to make clear to United and their corporate partners that United Next and the company's ambitious future plans can't happen without our pilots. With one new airplane delivered every three days, United needs our pilots more than ever. United has a contract with J.P Morgan Chase for credit card affinity services. United has contracts with the International Association of Machinists and the Professional Airline Flight Control Association. They invested in carbon capture company, Svante. United still does NOT have a contract with our pilots.

The United MEC thanks our fellow pilots at American, Alaska, Delta, Fedex, and JetBlue for participating in our informational picket. When one pilot group advances our profession, we all move forward.

The more I think about this the more I think you’re correct. And if so, this was an absolute master stroke to get it past whatever Yankees staff weiner would have squashed it had they known it’s true meaning.

Probably not ALPA, nor should they do these types of shenanigans. But it does remind me a bit of the old AF spirit missions from yesteryear.

I mean, is the goal to dunk on Kirby or to bring him to the negotiating table? “Keep rowing” is a cool tagline, but I doubt an effective motivator. He’ll cut a deal not when he sees how sick our burns are but when he’s compelled to admit he needs us to accomplish his goals.

Personally I hope this is a photoshop job or a non-ALPA message. Making it personal only makes him seem like the adult in the room, which is counterproductive.

it’s not photoshop. It’s very much real. I’m not a fan of this type of sophomoric BS…..but apparently this is how we “get the job done”. I’ll defer to the experts, but this seems like a waste..

It was a family awareness event at the game. That message did more to build unity amongst the pilots than sway a CEO. Unity wasn't built in a day and thanks to a former MEC Chairman, the task is just a little bit harder.

Maybe it’s effective; I don’t know. Chiding the CEO personally feels a little childish to me. My 2¢ we can build unity with a professional message like “Contract first, United next”.

Childish? Maybe. We're pilots and it's ingrained in us. But, for those in attendance sipping on a golden frosty pop and probably spilling half of it reading the message, it was a priceless moment they'll never forget.

There are other ways to motivate a CEO.
