They were just regular line pilots, extremely well prepared, and with access to the same attorneys and E&FA resources through ALPA national. Solid MEC direction was also a key element.
Delta went through very similar gnashing of teeth as what y’all are experiencing now with Contract15, it’s failed TA1, recalls, and successful TA2. I believe that experience set us up much better for a successful C19 at DL.
It’s a painful process, but will be well worth the effort. Hopefully AA gives y’all even more ammo to knock one out of the park. Best of luck.

I think some of you need to go back and re-read the latest NC Blastmail.
while there are (obviously) more items that were Open then I expected, there were good items that were agreed upon.
That being said- it’s the company playing these games. And maybe they are doing it just to **** with us.. to see if they can get a few pilots riled up enough to cause trouble!
Do we have a ways to go- maybe/probably. Company can offer us the Honest & Fair Contract that we deserve.
And in a few weeks, if we don’t have an AIP>TA it will be the company’s fault when the PR starts to hit the fan!

Work rules are always phased in to allow them time to get proper staffing levels in place. A deal in the next couple of months wouldn’t have a negative impact on the summer schedule. The rates are immediate and that combined with simply being done with negotiations would only help cover the summer schedule. The ball is in their court.

I was optimistic that the delays in negotiations were due to ALPA asking for the moon, and slowly working to get all the high value proposals to be TA'd. Turns out we asked for mediocre changes at best, matching Delta rates with minimal QOL improvements, and still can't even get the company to agree to them. How the NC survived the recall wave is astounding. At this point, we might as well pull our proposal, survey, wait for AAs TA, file for mediation, and strike vote. It will add another 8-12 months to the process but we could actually end up with a contract that won't be a 50+1% yes vote as the current one seems to shaping up as.

"If we don't get people to upgrade, we will have to cancel/defer deliveries..." so please bid them...
I wouldn't bid NB CA as a Jr guy unless you can stomach reserve "as-is" for the next two years. Because that's probably what you'll be doing.
Let the company choose... give us the contract we deserve, or punt deliveries. Once you realize that those decisions are out of your control, these decisions are easy.
We fly, they manage.

What makes you think there is a problem? There are still a ton of junior takers on every vacancy. The only people who know if that is falling short of requirements would be crew resources. I stopped counting at 50 takers on today’s snapshot, but if we are getting that many with only a month after the last bid, there is no problem.

Not sure. All I know is our ask, at least what has been shared of it, is far less than what the United pilots deserve. This will be even more apparent once AA receives a TA. Do you want work rules that will be around for the next decade if we get a 50+1% contract?
