ALPA really needs to phrase that differently. In a way they need to make sure people understand that it isn’t changing but positioning it as an “accomplishment” is asinine.

Yes, some; & yes, for now. Because it’s illegal to organize any such “drawdown”, it doesn’t turn off like a light switch. But it’s obtuse to assume that what’s happening today is necessarily what will be happening tomorrow, in a week; 2 months from now.Every time BQ’s claims of wanting a “truly industry leading contract” are offset by an itemized communication from the union of all the industry average policies the company is refusing; every time SK claims DAL is the new standard & doesn’t follow through, the enthusiasm level drops. On their own timelines & in their own way, 15,000 people care a little less; so they do a little less. It takes time, but the longer it goes on, the worse it gets.
Up until TUMI 1, this company was selling a lot of pilots on doing extras. It was catching on. That was a narrow window of opportunity where a great contract would have made them rockstars. Imagine if we had gotten DAL’s contract before DAL did. Guys would have been over the moon. The whole “taking pride in the brand” movement would have exploded overnight.
The irony is, today, that same contract would move the needle far less. By the summer, maybe not at all. The longer they drag this on, they’ll just end up spending the same money for a rapidly diminishing reward. Whether they believe it or not, they are losing to the clock.

It will be even more asinine when AA gets a 1400-1800 day 1 start time as seemingly every other airline has gotten recently.

Nobody is parading around at Delta with managements offer. We were owed that contract. I truly have no hope for your sorry pilot group. You’ll match our rates, they’ll throw you a few QoL scraps that won’t hurt their bottom line, and that will be that.
The end.

That just proves most of the United pilot group are total suckers. Management would have been “rockstars”?? Are you ****ing kidding me!! Sadly you’re probably correct, but you are the weakest unionized work group in the industry. You boys are way to proud to know your worth. It’s just embarrassing.
