Also the lesson that people think with their wallet and their best interest and not yours. You might get lucky and get grouped in with something that benefits you but don’t count on it.
Hilarious that the same crowd that cries "Waaa! I've had a tough career and I need two more years!" is lecturing on fairness.

You don't give a crap about your customers who have had flights delayed and cancelled due to pilot shortages.
Andy my guy did that third divorce hurt the piggy bank that hard? Or was was it the second with alimony payments that put your forever money to sleep 😴.

I promise you those three extra years won’t be bailing your broke ass out. Ex-Wifey #2 will be so proud of you though Andy 👍. Just don’t forget to pack those extra adult diapers to work!

Please all you Yes to 67.99 voters do us all a favor and retire with some dignity you certified degenerate bums.

Fairness? Don’t waste your time. We have no say in this. It’s all politics. Even age 60 was 100% politics. I expect though someday when/if the average person lives to be 110 and 70 isn’t considered old, upping the retirement age is a given. If it’s fair to raise the age then? Is it unfair to those in their 30’s? Wasting our time talking about what’s fair.

Who said I wanted two more years? Most of the pilots close to retirement that know couldn’t care if the age changes or not. Some might work a little longer but most are ready to move on.

I hear a lot more crying by the younger generation. If you think the age 67 change is a bad deal for you you should find another career. There will be a lot worse things between now and when you retire at age 70 😂

This is a lie. Everyone will stay. Pilots are greedy, and 9 out of 10 will go to the max.

It's disingenuous to say otherwise. So don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining.

I’d bet that pilots younger than 40-45 could see the age requirement completely removed before they retire. Age 67 is just the next step, and age 70 at a minimum will happen within 10 years.

Everyone keeps saying how many are out on disability or sick, have all this vacation time they will hardly work. If that’s the case you will barely notice a slowdown in movement. The company will have to cover this flying so they will just have to have more pilots in the senior seats, therefore not really affecting the junior pilots profession.

If I was …. On you it would be your leg getting wet!

Senior staffing is already accounted for today in the staffing model. This will be a pause, there's no other way to put it. Age 60 to 65 was 2008-2013. I know you guys are getting up there in years, so maybe you've forgotten how bad it was.

Safety? Again, the high risk group is 50-60 due to the elevated coronary events in that age group.
Look at page 19 of the slide deck that Togathrust posted: https://www.icao.int/safety/aviation...%20Study_c.pdf
The risk declines after 60.

If this were truly about safety, ALPA would be pushing for a retirement age of 50.

I'm too fat and ugly to be married, and of course my personality repulses everyone I meet. So I've got that going for me.
