Bases that are in higher cost of living probably tend to go more senior on the ca side relative to FO because of expenses too. Ca can afford living in base more than an FO can

I agree completely on the insurance aspect, but FL usually ranks pretty high as a low overall tax state.

link isn’t working but FL ranks 6th by Forbes for lowest overall tax burden.

The base isn’t even open yet and you expect any sort of accurate prediction for something happening in 3-7 years?

who’d you hear that from, your dog?

Ive been hearing this from exclusively Florida based FAs. Management has specifically said “We’re not doing that”

To be fair, management also said no chance in hell of a Florida base...six months before they announce a Florida base. My point being, management definitely has long term plans that we dont know about.

I could see widebodies in MCO in the next 10 years. They just built a new terminal and the master plan shows another new mirror image terminal adjacent to it. That's a lot of gates for (hopefully) mostly international flights. Delta and American won't do international out of MCO. Who will fill that need, JetBlue?

Like most Airport Master Plans, they never get fully executed…

Highly doubt United will have WB international flying out of MCO.

Home insurance is basically a tax but unlike taxes that will provide some benefit like better schools, roads, community services, etc, I get to pay $8,000 a year to enrich an insurance company that is going to screw me over if a hurricane hits. I'm house hunting right now to move to a base and my mortgage payment on a sub 300k house is equivalent to houses in the 500's elsewhere thanks to Florida's f'ed up insurance market. But hey at least the government is sticking it to Disney and anyone can canceled carry with no permit or training required!

You should write your congressman to change the constitution.

It amazes me with 5 internal recommendations(united) 3000TT, 2600 turbine, Worldwide B777 experience, 4 year degree still no reply from united and people with 2000TT getting the calls. Wow!

Go to a job fair or one of the conventions UAL will have recruiters at. If one of your UAL buds can score you a meet n' great with a chief pilot, all the better.

I was in your shows with about 8000 more total time about 4 years ago.
