Anyone WN to UAL?

When I go to work I get issued a pillow and a blanket and get to sleep for 1/3 to 1/2 of the flight. You are right about having every type of flying under the sun.

To get back to the original topic of this post and looking for input. Currently at WN with ~ 6 months on property. Live in a base that houses a UAL base to the north of it. Have enjoyed my time thus far. But, with 37 years of flying to go, and the current hiring craze, I find myself considering. Have had many a conversation with the better half and just have yet been able to get myself to commit. Any input would be appreciated.

Question for the hive..
With SFO WB as my goal, would it be foolish to prioritize aircraft over base when selecting? Hypothetically lets say there are no WB SFO slots when its time to pick, but there is an EWR 787 or 777. Would it be foolish to take an EWR WB spot with the hope of bidding back to SFO relatively quickly? Or would it be a safer bet to take something like SFO 320 and save WB for down the road.
Thanks!

bid SFO if you are local. You can always bid 777 in the next vacancy. It won’t take longer than a few months to get it

Spot on. If you live local, don’t bid a reserve WB FO spot across the country. That would be completely insane. Pay is the same on all fleets and the only thing you are saving is the trip back to TK for training. Personally, I would wait to make the jump after your seniority allows you to be a lineholder.

Yes it would be foolish to bid non-sfo widebody
Primary reason is that you can bid to 777 or 787 from anything else. Whichever has sfo first you will get.
If you bid 777 or 787 you then are locked into that airframe. Possibly minor/zero difference but still
6 months on a NB learning the system would do you good also
