Or course. Delta is a top tier career destination. A more appropriate question is: leave United for Jet Blue? Jet Blue's current rates are approximately equal to United and they have a better reserve system. Their new TA/extension places them squarely above United in terms of pay without compromising scope or work rules. If you have one or more recent DUIs and feel trapped at United you might consider Spirit too, to ride the JB merger. If Delta is really your goal, and it's good to have goals, don't discount that Delta hires more pilots from Spirit/JB than United.

What's the latest number on the seniority list at UA, is it past 15000? Are the retirement numbers listed on APC still accurate?
And thanks for all the inputs! Always interesting hearing other opinions. General conscience in me tells me its probably best to stay put.

Highest current seniority number is 157XX, although that includes some folks who have retired or are inactive. Looks like roughly one retirement per day this year, steadily increasing to a peak of 700 per year from 2028-2031. 7500+ retirements (half the current list) by the end of 2036.
