What do you dislike about commuting and what do you dislike about FedEx? Probably a bad idea to go to Delta and commute there also. It could be worth living in base at United, depending on which base and your answers.

You know whats better than driving to widebody captain? Being retired in your 50's with widebody captain money. I would stay at delta and come up with a financial number where you could theoretically retire with a great qol. I would gamble that you will hit that number sooner than you think with a little education and frugality. You can't take it with you and how much do you really need to live well? I will keep working past my number for fun but when it isn't fun I am out.

WB Captain has a range from 1985-2001
UA has hired 3000+ since 2021 with 100-200 a month being hired.. If you could secure a interview in 2023 and a class before 2024 you will have at least 4500 in front of you mostly young 24-45 age.
It's pie in the sky to predict WB Captain. Junior bottom of the barrel on RSV 18-25 years. Senior flying the trips everyone wants 25-40 years that's pretty much every base 777/787.

Those are big enough ifs to make the associated prediction completely worthless- see the above comment on “pie in the sky”.

What? Trouble in paradise? You mean they aren’t gloating that the legacies will soon be furloughing and everyone will inevitably be begging for a job at FedEx? Times truly HAVE changed…..
