I've been going to OTF for over three years now. It is really great. Haven't lost that many pounds, but I am in way better shape, and my BP, A1C and cholesterol have all improved.

How much does Orange Theory cost? Is it like a traditional gym membership or do you pay by the session?

I made the stupid new years resolution to work out more so I am evaluating my options.

Ha. Or at least a month. A good idea in January is still a good idea in February. The gyms will be much less crowded by February!

It is kinda pricey but there are multiple options. You can buy “class packs” which would be something like 10 classes that you can use whenever. You can also do monthly memberships which offer so many sessions per month. I initially did the 8 sessions a month option to see how often I went. I eventually upgraded to the unlimited package because I found that once I got into the routine I really liked it. Much like Pilot4000 I haven’t really lost a lot of weight (again, my new resolution is my diet this year which needs to get much better) but I am easily in way better condition than when I started. It’s easy to use the app to keep track of your statistics as long as you wear the heart rate monitor during the workouts.

As far as cost, when I decided to take the plunge it’s about $80 for the heart monitor (one time purchase) and for the unlimited plan it will be about $179 or so month. That depends on your studio's level though. I got in on the unlimited deal before my studio raised prices when their level went up so I got grandfathered under the lower rate. But I can also go visit any other studio nationwide for free (depending on various factors it can be $10 a visit to another studio). So not cheap but I’ve spent more on dumber ****. For me it’s a good solid 1 hour workout where I don’t have to decide what to do. I just follow orders, work out as hard as I feel I can on that day, and try not to get caught checking out the MILFS 😆

Since I’ve joined I’ve visited studios that are all easy walks from our long layovers in HNL, LAX, PHX, AUS, ORD, DEN and TK, BOS, NYC, and DCA/IAD.

If you have to eat a crew meal, try the following mitigations:
1) Trash the cheescake, cookies, or whatever dessert
2) Trash the bread roll (except the pretzel bun - I tear out and trash the insides of it and eat the outside crust - I'm not perfect lol)
3) Only use 1/2 the salad dressing
4) Only eat 1/3 of the breakfast yogurt
5) Use the steak sauce sparingly
6) Don't add salt
