Default WHO is next for MC?

Regardless of how you feel about Neil, we now have to elect a new MC. What names are you all hearing and what do you know about them?

1. RC is the other guy than ran against Neil. He’s a HUGE NO because he was S/T under Insler AND an ALPA lifer who hasn’t turned a wheel in forever.

Who do these people think they are…staying in ALPA jobs forever…rarely flying…and think they can represent the flying group? You have to be way out of touch with reality and way off the res to even think that is acceptable and going to fly.

You know who you are. Your schedules are very much public. Take a back seat or hit the line.

Maybe it would be appropriate to require all ALPA folks to fly at least two month per year - one month on reserve off season and one month of line flying in July.

Mike Harrison has apparently thrown his name into the ring. I don’t care about his rah rah elect me letter. Is he a line pilot or ALPA lifer? Anyone know anything about Mike?

Quick look at his Calrec and he’s done a (as in 1) charter trip in the 4 months of viewing available. So it appears he is at least current but not a line pilot. The rest is union drop. I don’t know him from Adam though.

Where is this elect me letter? Was it sent to the UALPA distro? I haven't seen it.

I think OP chose to interpret the MEC update as a campaign letter.

I don’t really disagree, it did read that way, but nothing official.

Poor choice of words on my part. My apologies. Mike is now our acting MC based on the NS resignation.

His letter did sound like the typical letter we’ve come to expect. A bunch of words that really don’t say anything new.

For the record.. I submitted a Resolution at the last (14 Dec 2022) C5 Council meeting required every member who is on FTFPL to maintain basic currency, ie a single trip each month.
Believe it or not, there were a few pilot opposing it!
After some discussion, went to a vote- Passed unanimously.

Will never understand it. EVERY One was hired here to be a Professional Airline Pilot. What is so hard in maintaining currency? Especially when you can actually pick and choose a trip?!
A single day turn, and 3 day European trip, something.

After this weeks debacle and the latest blastmail.. fear we have a ways to go~

Always
