Totally agree. There needs to be way more transparency and constituent engagement. No more “oh by the way the meeting is in two weeks an hour and a half from the airport” after bidding has closed. Zoom attendance should be allowed. No more “we voted on an AIP that you guys didn’t even get a bullet point briefing on”. No “We’re going to elect a new MEC chair behind closed doors with a weeks notice” nonsense.

As it stands right now I'd support GK wholeheartedly. Like him or not, NS is a died in the wool unionist. He would've rubbed everyone the wrong way at various times because he's always about what is RIGHT. Somebody (UAL or ALPA?) is afraid of having that kind of leadership here. The attack on NS made that obvious. They DESERVE to have GK at the table.

Show me the post merger volunteers and ill tell you who i support. Omitting people because of their legacy is stupid. IMO we need to decide what we want ALPA to be...a trade union or a company committee. Then put in the leadership to make it happen. I've got 9 years left so if the majority want to pass away the 'union' part of ALPA for the feel good stuff then so be it.

Too bad majority agree.

Characterizing AW as a money grubber is so far from the truth… I don’t agree with her on many things but she doesn’t deserve an attack that she’s doing it for $$$.
She literally went on forums during the pandemic loa and claimed she is in it for the money and she wasn’t going to “pay” for any other pilots salary…good thing she didn’t persuade me to vote no…I like our 5percent pay raise and my older friends enjoyed their early retirement

I’m not going to pay your salary either. Nor should any other pilot. The company does. That is the point you failed to, yet may someday recognize.

They were hoodwinked. Hopefully they see the light some day….Back to the thread topic…if your rep voted for the TA, they’re the problem. Everything else is noise, and an attempt to deflect and change the subject.

The culture has changed. We have one year captains. Thousands of new hires. The old ways of pay your dues blah blah…you deserve to be furloughed…blah blah are behind us. I think we are more united than before. We dont eat our own. Anne’s Me me me mentality is dying year by year. The pandemic LOA was a great thing for all.

Thousands of new hires on a CEO growth bet. Who foots the bill if that bet goes south? A plan that bails out everyone, financially needed or not.

You were played like a fiddle.
