Ok I hear you. But SK has been paying the Mesa pilots salaries. JO just made a huge announcement about all of Mesa flying and planes will be exclusive to UA. Do you really think JO sent that email out without SK blessing? Do you really think he’s going to bite the hand that feeds him? Do you really think that email was just to stop bleeding before a BK? I’m not just directing these questions to you but everyone in this thread. There has to be more to this unfolding situation that we don’t know. The flying has to be covered and we aren’t talking about a 12-18 month transition this is 3 months out. UA can’t afford to let Mesa go BK and lose all that lift 3 months from now.

UAL will let Mesa go bankrupt and pull their 175’s and give them to CommuteAir or SkyWest to operate. They will put mainline on the routes while those two regionals spool up pilots and instead of (3) 50-seaters daily departures from like ORD-DBQ, they will do one daily flight with a 737/A329 from ORD-DBQ moving the same amount of passengers with mainline Pilots.

SK will probably have the PR Department issue a press release something along the lines of “We are aware of Mesa’s situation and are reviewing the terms of a POSSIBLE deal”. That will keep the Mesa employees there (not quitting and jumping ship) thru the Holidays to keep the bad press away from Holiday cancellations. Then after Jan 2, 2023 when the holiday traffic slows down (like it always does in Jan/Feb) then UAL will publicly shoot down the deal.

It would only be once a day on the mainline NB. 3 times on a regional equals about 150 passengers. Replace it with a once daily flight on a NB moves the same amount of passengers (give or take a few).

Still. I need some good incentive $$$$$ to spend 20 hours in BMI versus STT.
