It’s all over the news. You can google for specifics. American is cutting ties with Mesa March/April 23. Mesa CEO sent an email company wide saying all current American flying will be transitioned to UA during that same time. COO just sent an email confirming the timeline. Yes, the CEO said the “agreement was being finalized” so it’s not technically currently in stone. So what happens next is anyone’s guess unless you’ve been in the room with Kirby and Ornstein.

Wholly-Owned….
Well the scope agreement is in place….however if United were to purchase Mesa and staple the seniority list to the bottom of the United list…now we have “ United” pilots flying 79 seater planes. My guess is either way we are looking at a purchase not just a regional contract….how that will effect the pilots at both mainline and regional side cannot be determined till more information is released….this has been in the works for at least a year.

It's not a guess that their 900s will NOT be flying for United Express. Our scope has been explained and I can assure everyone that we will not be loosening it for even 1 second. The pilots may end up flying 170/175s that are already under the cap? UA owns some of the planes so maybe they could move some into Mesa?

Ok I hear you. But SK has been paying the Mesa pilots salaries. JO just made a huge announcement about all of Mesa flying and planes will be exclusive to UA. Do you really think JO sent that email out without SK blessing? Do you really think he’s going to bite the hand that feeds him? Do you really think that email was just to stop bleeding before a BK? I’m not just directing these questions to you but everyone in this thread. There has to be more to this unfolding situation that we don’t know. The flying has to be covered and we aren’t talking about a 12-18 month transition this is 3 months out.
