With an industry-wide pilot shortage, why would Mesa Pilots consider working at United when DAL, Alaska, Et al. are paying higher wages with better work rules? For United to consider that this deal is somehow a pilot pipeline is either naive or disingenuous. Mesa pilots will act in self-interest when given the chance, wouldn't you?
and DAL makes the same as us currently. Their AIP still isn’t even a TA.
UAL has potential that’s others don’t, just like others have potential that UAL doesn’t.
you want be based in PNW? Go Alaska or DAL. Chicago or Texas means Southwest or AMR or UAL.
deciding where one applies, let alone accept a class date if hired, is more then just based on a pay rate.
so yes I see plenty of Mesa pilots considering working at UAL, especially if it means an identified pathway to mainline.
