We might just be screwed ladies and gentlemen.
Don't be surprised. This is just what we do.

Remember during the merger how the lUal pilots were lecturing the lCal guys how we didn't know what a REAL union was, and how the mighty UALALPA was going to straighten us CALALPA pilots out? I do.

Remember how the Blotivator kept complaining how the CoEx flow-through pilots had no business having jobs at a major airline and how inexperienced we were, blotivating over the fact that he came to United via an internship with only a few hundred hours total time, and had never been in anything faster than a GA prop before? I do. (I had over 11,000 hour TT when I started at lCal, including 5,000+ in a RJ as Captain.)

I thought there was a Draft AW movement going on? Even Jay Pierce would be better than the Blotivator.

Coming from someone who was an immediate no vote on the Tumi, N or G would be terrible for this company. Too many people who do not know their history. We need fresh reps that are not prior UAL or CAL and have some sense of sanity.

No jobs at a major or no regional doh/seniority number at a major? Big difference.

So for us newbies to the UALPA drama, post merger, can you explain? Do we have a pilot wide vote or is it just the newly elected LECs that vote for the new MEC Chair? If it’s the later I now understand what that Capt was telling me. We’ve just (well almost in Houston) recalled enough reps in key bases to where the new LECs there will have enough membership votes because of the size of those bases to be able to elect their brand of MEC leadership. And by his foreshadowing if this comes to pass the assumption we will get a contract relatively soon after Delta’s TA is approved is faulty. There is rumor of trying a full rewrite and things like a new A plan etc… So if one were bidding a new fleet or seat on this vacancy with hopes of new contract pay rates or reserve rules in the near future, they may be in for an unhappy surprise, is this correct?

Master Chairmen is elected by the LEC members. That is why it’s important for all MIGS to get involved at the local level and elect reps that will truly represent their members and not be beholden to a MC like what happened with TI. The recalls were needed because many reps had forgotten they represent the members not the MC. ALPA is designed as a bottom up organization not a TOP down. There are many sections that need a full rewrite, and some need tweaking. We are this far behind because the weak LEC members voted for a subpar TA. Too much time operating in secrecy with Zoom meetings during covid didn’t help. If they had done the right thing in June (hard to believe it was that long ago) and turned down Tumi TA we would be 6 months further down the road in negotiations.

This is how the system works. Its slow and painful. As a pilot group we trusted our elected reps to do the right thing and we were duped. The Toddlers further gummed up the system by refusing to do the right thing and resign. Many including IAH refused to schedule meetings slowing down things further. So here we are, 6 months post TA and starting all over.

I have never heard of this A plan rumor. I don’t put much stock in it. There are still too many of us who lost it all and have 0 faith in any plan we don’t have 100% control over. If you want your voice to count, it begins with electing reps at the LEC who will do their councils wishes and shoot straight. When they forget who they serve, recall is our only avenue. We’re almost done with the process now. I believe IAH was the last place where there was a push to change reps.

Any MIGS ought to be able to run for MC, I can't believe with 14k pilots the 2 best that have tossed their hat into the ring are Gary and Neil...come on. If this is the best we have then we deserve what we get.

Huh? Garry has publicly stated his is NOT running. I don’t get the fascination with him some of you people have.

According to the IAH LEC reps the two people who have officially given their willingness to serve are indeed NS and Rick C (ask your rep for his full name or look for yourself on UALPilotsforum) from IAD. I don’t know Rick but a quick look at his calendar show’s he hasn’t seen a plane since before Oct. (He may be doing some amazing work for us with his UB FPL but just saying he may be out of touch with line pilots issues)

Any MIG can run for MC, but without some understanding of how the game works at that level it would set us back even further. As always, talk to your reps. No time like the present with the election meeting starting Monday.

Just passing on first hand info as of yesterday.

Totally agree, but like national politics unfortunately s..t floats to the top. It’s truly hard to believe these guys are even being considered. Especially NS as he’s a narcissistic bloviating nasty individual that bullied and ran off many good folks from the other forum till he was finally kicked off. It’s now a much better place and so would our union be with out the likes of him.
Anyone but……including Snow White!
