"My way or the highway" is exactly the problem, and really isn't any different than TI if you frame it from the point of view of being responsive to membership. My observation is he has to speeds - asleep and flaming a-hole.

couldn’t disagree more with that statement. He’s forgotten more about unionism than most of us will ever know. The two compelling points for me are1) he didn’t want the job and has no higher aspirations, unlike Insler. 2) the company wants no part of him being MEC chair. That should tell you more than all of the “ he’s mean” type posts on this and other boards.

The reality is that the rank and file membership demand more than a flaming a-hole telling them how it's going to be as a surrogate for actual leadership.

There's a huge difference between being "mean" and being "all broadcast - no receive". Forgotten more about unionism? I'm sure he'll be the first to tell you that.

The MEC has to know that we need a MC that can unify the pilot group and have the public support of the MEC.
