With all the Delta comparisons we are making this week, one seems absent. Seniority will get you one premium pay trip (green slip) at Delta, then you go to the bottom of the list so everyone can have a shot.
Unfortunately we eat our own here and this will probably never change. But the fact that the top 5% got to take advantage of the 300% pay in January while the rest didn’t see a single PP trip underscores the brokenness in our system.
Are there other companies that manage premium pay like we do?

They say location, location, location is the most important thing in real estate. It's the same at United Airlines, only it's senioriy, seniority, seniority. Whether it's a premium trip or a last minute jumpseat (no listing required), SENIORITY baby, it's what's for dinner!!! But hey, Delta is still hiring.
Maybe on the next contract....

Super junior and some have the attitude "ITS BROKEN let's change the premium pay trip methodology!" ...... "It's not fair !" might even hear sprinkling of EQUITABLE thrown around as well.
When these pilots actually get enough seniority to hold Premium pay trips ? ........... crickets 🦗

The vast majority of premium pay as a WB CA in my category comes on fairly short notice. Most under 8 hours prior to show. Per CBA that’s in the real time window - fastest fingers (first come) not seniority based. Don’t think there will be any changes as the union has access all that data. It’s more of a bias to those that live in base vs a commuter.
First Look Run An assignment (trip, short call, or field standby) that becomes unassigned during the Real Time window (after the 1045 run LBT), will trigger a First Look Run. As the assignment becomes available after 1045 LBT, the Real Time Trip Trade System searches for matching requests and awards each trade in seniority order. Addition of Premium Pay to a trip (50%, 75%, or 100%) will also trigger a First Look Run. Note: An assignment that becomes unassigned in the Real Time window and triggers a First Look Run may not generate an Open Pairing Alert, if the Real Time System immediately awards the assignment to a matching request.

Oh Hail Nah. Don't need no new hires diluting our profit sharing. Especially next year.... with the signing bonus checks included in the profit sharing mix..... With ~6-8% of earnings on profit sharing, might see $40K!!! .... cha f/n CHING baby $$$$$$$. I'll tell all the FA's and van drivers!!! It's gonna be SWEET.
