I doubt you’ll see any meaningful movement in one BES as a result of these bases, the commute will just get a little better for the ones that live there.
I’ve talked to commuters to LAX/SFO from other cities that will still be commuting because they believe that commuting from their town to LAS would be an easier commute than to LAX/SFO, which is probably true.

Any idea how long it would take for a NH awarded IAH 737 to bid back to ORD with this new vacancy? TIA.

Since you will be starting class on Tuesday, you’ll be able to participate in the current vacancy. At the moment, there are only 20 ORD 737 FO allocated on the vacancy bid. If you haven’t been able to log into flying together before your drop, ask the BI instructors to show you the snapshot of the vacancy to get an idea of how you want to roll the dice. The first snapshot will be posted Monday.

Didn’t Alaska just get 5:20 min per day? That would make a 3 day worth at least 16, a 4 day worth at least 21:20
In the airline industry, outstation bases typically pay more due to their more efficient nature because they typically start early on day 1 and finish late on day 3 or 4. You're basically doing a hub's trip but with two extra legs. Expect to switch from AM flying to PM flying on one of the middle days of the trip.

It depends on how you define efficient. Outstation trips typically pay on rigs - or hard time is build to match rig time.

yes, it may mean more absolute $ for a 3 or 4 day trip but $ / time away is typically worse.

Efficient pay wise majority of time. Those two extra legs do add up.

Except in the case of LAS where the company has emphasized red eyes to start 4 day pairing will be common.
