The “me too” kinda screws everyone. Why would UA management want to come in above this if they know DL will snap back up to 1% above? UA now CAN’T beat DL on pay, so they won’t try. It ensures DL will be the best paid by 1%, but puts a ceiling on pay across the industry. It’s a back door way to keep airlines from competing on pay without actually entering into an illegal collusive agreement. I have to think the “me too” was a request from DL management, not DALPA.

Limits to SC/FSB conversion. Limits on when scheduling can even build these things also. It’s always amazing to me that after blocking in off a trip with 1 day left on RSV they suddenly and magically need a 1 day SC at 0700.

That is a lot of speculation. Traditionally, retro/PS etc is paid on "Delta Earnings"....ie they haven't carved out for any specific leaves or aircraft status. If you got pay from Ma Delta, then there should be a retro adjustment to it. They literally look at your W2 and multiply it by a percentage. Unknown if Retro will be pensionable like PS is though.
UNAs were paid but didn’t fly. No block hours, no retro flight pay? (I’m not advocating either side of the argument)
The AIP says it’s applied to the “pilot’s eligible earnings,” the definition of which could be very much against the UNAs’ interest and for the company’s.
Edit - they’re not even calling it retro, it’s a “one time payment after ratification.”

I thought retro applied the new hourly rates to the block hours flown since the contract became amendable. The retro applied then to flight pay and flight advance, not the whole W2.

It's one thing if someone took a voluntary COLA..
But- if a pilot took an SRL, or another pilot was basically benched because their fleet/base was parked.. they still got "X" amount of hours pay and still deserve some sort of retro bases on that number.

That wouldn’t be hard to do. Any excess in pay with a corresponding snap up at the same limits would exceed theirs.
