Please post your statistics. I find it difficult to believe that an airliner, designed in the 60s, is safer than a Fly By Wire (FBW) airliner designed in the 80s.

Then you obviously haven't flown fifi enough. Not only does the POS vary plus or minus 20 kts it will sometimes just give up the ghost and not even try to make an altitude. Hell, it even will decend below hard altitudes going into Denver. Known problem and within last 2 months there was a bulletin about it. Absolutely horrible vnav. Not to mention it doesn't decend out of TOD on its own which is a complete joke.

Here you go. .09 vs .07 for NG as stated.

Any other questions??

http://www.airsafe.com/events/models/rate_mod.htm

And actually the A320 was designed in the 70s and produced in the 80s.

Okay, I will bite. What's the difference design wise that makes the NG a different category than the previous grouping (300, 400, 500, 600 or whatever it is)?

From digging into the A320 and 737NG crashes, how many were pilot error and how many were from design error?

Do you really want to count intentionally flying an aircraft into the ground (German Wings or whatever it was)?

FiFi no doubt has her quirks, but in the 4000 hours I’ve flown her I have never seen those things, other than the +/- 20 kts in managed speed. But I will take the A320 and all her quirkiness all day, every day and twice on Sunday rather than fly the guppy with its Apollo 13 overhead panel.

I feel like FIFI vs Guppy arguments are going to be the predominant means of discourse amongst a certain subset in retirement homes throughout the country in about 15-20 years.

truly who cares

ON both sides they're almost all pilot error.

You can have it and its Apollo 14 lower panels.
Unfortunately have to fly that POS tomorrow thanks to our 3 year locks.
