Hell yeah. I’ll take a beer at the High Life Club in DSM over CUN or any of those tourist traps all day long.

Anyone know if the employee parking at LAS is covered? Or do the cars melt out in the sun?

Employee parking is out in the sun.. however that was when I lived there 4 years ago. Not sure if that has changed.

LAS hates employees. I work for another carrier in Terminal 1 and I think they only provide parking because the contract with the airlines says they have to.

Are they worse than DEN? At DEN the parking garage sat EMPTY during covid and yet they made employees walk all of the way out to east economy lot, through the empty east garage. The bus to the normal employee lot used to drop off within a few feet of the door to the terminal, now you have to take a five story escalator ride up through a freezing cold wind tunnel to get to the terminal, if you were even lucky enough to find a place to park your car in the lot. Also the buses refuse to keep a schedule, so you never really know what time you need to get to the lot to catch a bus to the terminal.

Yeah the people who planned DEN may as well have taken a dump on employees.

Hey here’s an idea; let’s build a train that goes from the airport and have it go LITERALLY right next to the employee lot and every rental car company, but instead of utilizing a reliable form of transportation that is comfortable and efficient, we can put a bunch of buses all over the airport that are never there when you show up and are shoulder to shoulder half the time.

Oh and then we can build employee lots that aren’t big enough so that every day one lot fills up so you have to go to a different lot and now the bus has to stop at both lots all evening.

What’s the current snapshot for MCO and LAS? Looking pretty senior for both seats?

Answered in another thread. LAS went very junior and has unfilled CA spots.

MCO went very senior CA and FO is a huge range from very senior to quite junior.

Not surprised for MCO for CA spots even when I was flying, we had lots of senior pilots commuting in and out of central Florida. From the looks of it that has not changed. I know United had high hopes for MCO back in 91 when we had upwards for 50 flights a day but that ended in 93. Hopefully more city pairs and increased frequencies will come to MCO.

I heard a lot of the captains are just guys leaving freezes. They'll trade out ASAP with a bunch of 2nd year 737 captains from EWR who upgraded because they'd be commuting anyway. After the trade they're a 2nd year home based captain in MCO. Pretty good deal. Senior MCO FOs will have to wait. Losers.
