Wendy got elected MC by one vote. The minority immediately flipped C11 DCA Chair and chronic waffler, Steve Brashear, to their voting block. They then recalled to NC Chair and replaced him with Jay Heppner who negotiated the Transition and Process Agreement (TPA) and used the new majority on the MEC to prevent Morse from seeking stock for the pilots as Heppner wanted to get it and the credit. He failed. C11 had a resolution of no confidence in Morse that failed. If it would have passed most people thought Brashear would join the rest of the voting block to recall Morse.
Morse was undercut continuously by the voting block that among other things shut down the ALPA Forum. When we knew it was coming I asked none other than Todd Insler to buy some URLs so we could start a new forum. He came back with a forum all set up on freeforums.org. That became the current ualpilotsforum.org that AL took over. Ironically, AL threw myself and a host of other outspoke TI critics off in the runup to the Covid TA vote.
I only include a few of these details because unless you anonymous tough guys actually did some ALPA work around the MEC you don't have a clue of about the real story. You only know what other pilots buddies told you, and many of them lie for political advantage.
Long story short is Wendy Morse is one of the toughest unionists you all have ever heard of, and she just ran circles around and saved you from one of the biggest existential threats ALPA has faced. You ought to apologize and thank her if you ever run into her.
