Diatribes didn't do anything to stop him getting where he got and if after the Tumi TA people are still supporting his agenda then I'm not sure posting here will change even a single future vote. My point is you wasted a lot of time saying nothing that matters to anyone . . . in my lowly opinion.
SFO was a stacked deck due to the location. I expect the balloted vote to be much more lopsided. You know, some of the commuters that would have gotten hurt badly with the reserve rule changes. As a narrowbody lineholder, I was extremely ticked off at becoming a field standby every time I passed through a domicile.
It was a pretty significant effort for those of us who commute to get there ... I made it and I thank every other commuter who showed up. It was even a pretty big chore for many locals who live south of the airport.

When did we vote for this job to pay $1M? ALPA wastes our dues money on legions of boondoggles and I appreciate the job protections but we're making good progress towards being as corrupt as the Teamsters.

Every union (pardon me, association) follows this path. Huge gains for the workers in the beginning followed by huge gains for the 'leadership' in the end.

Why aren't the national leadership's salaries based on an average of the salaries of the member airlines? That might change the incentive structure in a way that benefits the common member instead of these disgusting politicians that weasel their way into these roles.

They are.

Keep in mind the ALPA officers don’t have 15 days off a month.

Neither do reserve pilots nor most NB pilots in my BES. But nice try at deflection.

Do you know that for a fact or just throwing things against the wall for your pal Insler?

They also aren’t commuting halfway across the country to a crash pad or getting endlessly reassigned or even spending that many nights away from home.

I keep seeing the salary and Todd thrown around. Is there someone running who isn't planning on taking a salary? Why is any of this a surprise? Don't you pay attention to how your union works? Seems like sour grapes.SECTION 5 - SALARY

The Presidency of the Association shall be a full-time position with an annual salary. The salary of the President and method of payment shall be established by the Board of Directors during the meeting at which they are elected or reelected. Their salary may be adjusted or supplemented by retirement, annuity payments, or other monetary benefits approved by the Board of Directors in session.

As a casual observer of this process who isn’t a fan of TI, one guy somewhat politely mentions that perhaps the individual who wrote this negative piece on TI may have an agenda of his own… and the same people who are disgusted at TI’s intimidation tactics and desire to quash dissent start getting aggressive and accusing the profile of being a TI foot soldier.

Maybe someone will write a book about the “de-adulting of America: how cable news and social media caused the US collectively lost 50 IQ points”

This tired talking point has run its course, kind of like the “my union speaks for me” - HA!

That “one guy” is well known and it’s not for good reasons.
