Refusing to fly during a rocket attack on TelAviv sounds prudent

The entire article is based on stories from angry pax. It’s ridiculous to run this story without getting a comment from United. Frankly none of it sounds plausible.

My guess is there was an actual threat on that given flight and as usual our dumb$ss lying media twisted it into an anti airline story

There was no threat directly towards that flight. 20% of the Jihad rockets misfired or launched West into the sea. There is zero chance they could work out aiming for a specific flight that was landing. The article was from the Jerusalem Post which isn’t “our” lying dumb$ss media. It is Israeli lying dumb$ss media

Yeah either way I wouldn’t be super stoked about overnighting under rocket fire.

Doesn't matter if none of the rockets worked. We are not in the military any more, no mission critical stuff here. We do not fly into war zones. Can't take that chance. If there is a slight chance, we don't go. This stuff is under constant evaluation for threats. If another flight went, then the evaluation for that flight didn't meet the criteria for cancelling.

But it does seem, UAL could have done a better job explaining the situation. Or, maybe we did, and the media got it wrong. Who'd a thought?

Those delay messages that are displayed on the app are false 90% of the time. It was only a matter of time before someone exposed the lies. For instance, I was recently supposed to deadhead on an airplane that just wouldn't cool down. APU MEL'd, and the PC air didn't work. (go figure) The flight was delayed again and again, but the app always said that it was because of "weather" at our destination. (IAD) It's almost like UAL doesn't know that people have weather apps on their phone that can see the absence of "weather" at the destination.
