And ICAO? Enjoy the guppy… last two 64+ year olds I flew with were f’ing dangerous. Worst part is they didn’t even realize it, both are “fly til they die” (even if that means the 250+ people behind them are included).

Right? Not only would most go to 67, but they’ll be lobbying for 70 while they’re at it.

I’m just correcting what you said. Biden didn’t say anything. Had he said something, it would have given credence to the claim that congress couldn’t pass something and the president would sign it into law. Not that I think that there is enough support in either chamber to make that happen at the moment.

Correcting what I said? What did I say? That a bill needs the President's signature to become law? That's a fact (unless there are enough votes to override a veto). I think your problem is with Fox Business and their headline. Because they know, like everybody, that the Sect. of Transportation is part of the President's administration.

The Biden administration says that 66 years old is too old for commercial airline pilots....
I LOVE that headline.

The FAA (part of Transportation) could change the retirement age, this statement by Pete lets us know that's not going to happen. Not on this Administration's watch. As for changing it in the legislature, Lindsay Graham (R) SC and his colleagues have made some headlines talking about changing the retirement age. It's good to know we have a friend of labor in the White House who opposes this effort.

Enjoy the attrition.

You said it’s “his” policy. It’s not anything of “his.” It’s a statement made by the DOT secretary. This has nothing to do with a “win” in congress or the Oval Office.

Where’s the win? Nothing’s changed. That’s my point.

ICAO is capped at 65. Japan they allow up to 67 with restrictions. Please cite your examples.

I’ll take the win. But we need to get on board with this MEC quick fix to TA1, vs a blow-up/ re-boot. Come November, the party of Big Business will prolly take the reins. All it will take is a 1500 hour rule modification and a retirement age bump….. our leverage will vanish like a fart in the wind.

Hahaha! Hahahahahahahahaha! Congress pass laws!

Congress is so crippled with petty partisan politics they can't even pass basic good for America bills like the one that brings microchip production onshore. Congress is useless. That's why we have the SCOTUS and executive branch legislating now.
