The laws have dramatically changed since 2003. Pensions are much more protected in bankruptcy today. A 401k is NOT retirement it's savings. You should be able to retire and leave your 401k intact until RMD about to be raised to 75. Do you really have 10 yrs worth of savings? I highly doubt it. SS at 65 will impose a 25% penalty on your payments so pilots are screwed on that as well. Only pilots able to stroll into retirement and keep the 401k growing are FedEx and UPS and you don't want a pension? That kind of thinking is what got us this TA.

If Dems don't get on board with 67 you can bet the midterm.ads are being prepared as we speak blaming them for all the air travel chaos. If Repulicans win the WH in 24 it's singed into law Jan 20th. Having air travel.chaos blamed on Dems when a very simple solution is sitting in front of them is not smart politics. Traveling constituents far outnumber a few pilots.

Do you think with the massive everyday problems the general public is facing that anyone is gonna give a shade about air travel chaos by Sept and October? Hint hint you don’t have any future in a campaign war room…

I will all but guarantee there will be zero adds that mention required pilot retirement age. ZERO. Why do you keep tilting at windmills?

Graham and Blumenthal were just on CNN discussing a handful (a small handful) of bipartisan issues. Age 67 wasn’t one of them. Never even came up. Not saying it won’t happen but if it does it will probably be with the FAA reauthorization bill which is over a year away. And it won’t be bipartisan. No way Schumer will let this go to the floor so it depends on what happens with the Senate this November. Which is why Graham is introducing it now.

I've said it again and again, till I'm blue in the face. Age 67 is DEAD in this Congress. Be sure and take note. Vote accordingly this November.

But are you one of those management weenies who likes to brag how they are a “pilot” yet haven’t seen the line in years, if ever? I’ve run into that type plenty of times before.

Also, being that this thread is about age 67, I’d think that the majority are against it. Those in favor tend to be the ones who benefited from seniority progression during their careers, but now want the goal post moved when it’s their turn to bow out.
Young guys don’t get it. Higher B fund percentage and pay will do nothing for the majority of pilots for retirement by the end of this agreement.
All it will do is make your VEBA bigger.

I’ll take that or any other tax efficient spillover vehicle like the MBCBP. That VEBA won’t last long with the list of eligible expenses.
