The argument for the C12 and other LEC no voters to vote yes on this is twofold…
1. there is a threat of company accusation of not “negotiating in good faith” if they torpedo their own deal and pull the TA and it’s vote (even though it’s a turd)…
2. perhaps due to (item 1) they believe that the best case scenario going forward is a resounding and overwhelmingly unified NO VOTE to send a message!
EVERYONE NEEDS TO VOTE NO TO THIS HORRIBLE CONCESSION-FILLED TURD! We must have a record and unified turnout!
They have stopped the town halls pushing it. It needs to die in this vote. Clean house and start over!

This is the MECs Kobayashi Maru. 2 days of secret meetings and all we get is “the vote will go on.” It’s a lose lose.l and they realize this. 2 days of trying to strategize their way out of their nightmare TA and it all reverts back to do nothing. I believe they know the overwhelming negative feedback almost certainly means defeat. Here’s to looking forward to charting our new course forward…with a new MC and NC.

I have called 5 MEC reps. Only one has returned my call. The one I spoke to said he had over 80 calls and emails to make to his constituents. Limiting his calls to 2 minutes each. Swamped. The MEC Chair hasn't returned my call or my email. Classy guy.

When someone ******** in the punch bowl, the people at the party usually want answers. Crazy concept isn’t it?

So we get a few pieces of silver thrown at us for massive concessions at a time we have the most leverage as pilots? I was never polled
or asked by any of these shysters what I wanted to see in a contract.
I hope this thing fails miserably and these want to be management sell outs leave in disgrace!

EXACTLY!
This was the wisest, and most legal step the MEC could have taken. The TA horse has left the barn, and now it’s up to the Pilots; if it passes it’s on us. How the TA got past the MEC will remain a problem to be addressed via the recall vehicle. The ratification responsibility rest solely with the Membership at this point.
Of course I’ll be roasted for this, but the MEC gets my respect for this message as they didn’t try to sell the TA; in fact, they actively stopped selling it last week.
Regarding this TA, we are where we are, irregardless of emotion. If it passes, it will be because our Pilot group passed it. If the TA fails, it will be because we rejected it.
Let’s fail this thing simply on its merits, or lack thereof. Once the TA threat is neutralized, then we hold leadership responsible for placing us in this position.

So am I, but WE have larger issues right now, and it is ABSOLUTELY NOT TOO LATE. The reality of being a soldier is that sometimes Generals make horrible mistakes. When a General makes a mistake, effective soldiers first win the battle, then address the General. Effective soldiers don’t cry about why they were placed in a bad fighting position while the enemy is trying to kill them.
This TA is our primary threat. Kill it. After next week, sack the Generals.

I’ve found that reading the red line document is more shocking than the bullet points. I am truly in shock at why the NC would agree to this deal.

The MEC did the only thing that they really could do. If you have understanding of the RLA, this shouldn’t surprise you at all. It is very likely that the Company communicated with the MEC and told them they had better continue the voting or they would make a complaint to the NMB. That would not be good for us!!!
So what do we do now? That’s simple…. We do what we’ve been trained to do. Handle the emergency by getting out the vote and voting no!!! If we have a resounding no vote, then that sends a very resounding message to both the Company and our representatives.
As has been stated earlier, if this thing passes, it’s on us!!! So let’s control what we can control!!!
