Moving ahead with the vote would be better for for the Q2 earnings report too. If it passes, yay for SK. If it fails, SK can blame it on American and say there's very little difference and we're still very close to a deal. Having an undecided result on top of a bunch of unprecedented union politics wouldn't be a good look at all.
Not to worry though. I'm sure the company will tell our MEC the best course of action and that's what will happen.

Why don't we have a vote for our own in house union? Can it be any worse than ALPA not serving our interests?

United almost left ALPA in the early 80s. Maybe it is time to revisit the idea. If ALPA isn't going to make moves towards becoming a national union, then what's the point of funding the current model where it's really just a political organization.

Go talk to Andy Collins and associates. They'd love to have you on their team.

ALPA is just a resource for your MEC. If you don’t like what’s happening, it’s your elected reps’ fault, not ALPA. You could argue against ALPA saying you don’t like how they distribute the resources between airlines and you think you’d be better off with an in house union, but you’re still gonna have the issue of trying to find reps that represent your interests.
