I just want to clarify something. There’s no AIP at AA. This is just the amended company proposal. APA hasn’t even weighed in on this yet. No AIP at AA.

We know, and the MEC knows……they’ve seized on this as a way to (try to) save face…..

Exactly. This is their way out. I'd love to know the current vote count. I'm going to guess it's running ~3 to 1 against. I know our polling is showing 90% against, but add 20% yes to any APC and UAL pilot forum poll and you get closer to being accurate.

I’m not within a few years of retirement. I just believe in the time value of money. I’d rather take my United money now and use it to invest, rather than squeezing out an extra penny or two and when it’s worth less and I’ve lost time.

I really dislike PSC because I live in base and actually like using my non-rev benefits. Also, I know how many tens or hundreds of millions of dollars that PSC benefit will cost the company, and I’d rather have that cost put to use for things like bigger raises or better work rules. But most important for me, I’m a junior CA and I fly with many senior FO’s who commute. They talk about how they commute because California state income taxes would kill them, and then they ask and find out I make more money than them after taxes, am away from home less, and like where I live. PSC would kill this balance.

You’ve already lost money accepting this as your money buys less now accepting a TA this far below CPI. 9.5% is laughable and if you include the 5% we bought and paid for I’m laughing at you.

There is more to this contract than just pay. If you’re willing to give up your QOL for 9.5% then I can’t help you. I’ll just say I’m glad you’re in the vast minority.

If you’re scared of a recession I have news for you, if we go into a long recession they’ll come for pay rates first. Then you’d be stuck with lower QOL and less pay…….

Ask someone who’s been there.

It's not about squeezing an extra penny or two from the company. Its about not selling ALL our leverage for an hr of add pay here and there. This TA solves all the companies problems for almost nothing. Additionally, the raises are pathetic. It's essentially a concessionary contract. I've never voted NO on a contract before. This thing is appalling.

Funny how full retro would solve some of that time-value problem.
