Reserves work 5 extra days per year with TA
Current book
1000 first day of reserve
UPA 2022
Basic RSV SC assignment before 1000 limited to 1, 2, 3, or 4-day silos
Assume TWO 4 days silos per month
0500/0600 vs 1000/1100
Five extra hours x TWO 4 day silos
10 extra hours of reserve per month
10 hours x 12 months = 120 hours or 5 extra reserve days per year equivalent
Still think that 9% pay raise sounds good?
You’re working 5 extra days for a few hours of add pay.

Assume THREE 4 day silos per month
0500/0600 vs 1000/1100
5 extra hours x 3 = 15 extra hours of reserve
15 extra hours x 12 months = 180 extra hours of reserve
180 extra hours / 24 hours = 7.5 extra days of reserve per year.
YOU’RE WORKING 7.5 EXTRA DAYS FOR A FEW HOURS OF ADD PAY.
STILL THINK THAT 9% sounds good?

I’m not sure what the limits are on how many 1,2,3,4 day silos they can build, but you can bet the company is going to figure out how to build fewer 5 and 6 day silos, especially on domestic reserve.
5 extra days per year x 3000 pilots = 15,000 extra pilot days for free
Reserve is 18 days per month x 12 months (excluding vacation, etc)
Average reserve is 216 days per year (excluding vacation, etc)
15,000 extra days / 216 = 69 pilots that can be furloughed for a few hours of add pay.
69 PILOTS CAN BE FURLOUGHED FOR A FEW HOURS OF ADD PAY.

AlettaOcean started their 10th thread of just babbling on to themselves about something with the TA.
Not every trip will start at 0600, and you won’t be assigned a trip every reserve block at 0600. So it’s not even close to 5 days in total. It’s probably a better assumption that even if you start 1-4hrs early, you’ll likely end 1-4hrs early. It’s honestly about 0 extra days of flying per year for reserves. Plus if you get some extra add pay, it’s that many fewer trips you have to pick up, so you’ll likely fly LESS days.

You’re talking about physical work. I’m talking about work/availability.
Current book
4 day block
1000/1100 on first day until 2359 the last day
UPA 2022
0500/0600 on first day until 2359 the last day.
A four day trip that departs at 0600 starts with Cleveland turn. Day four gets in at 2330.
Current book they drop the turn. The turn goes to premium pay. You still get back at 2330.
UPA 2022
You depart at 0600. No premium pay. You still get back at 2330.
Even if they don’t use you, you still have to be available and ready to go. And if you think they won’t put a 0600 field standby or 0600 short call on every single one of those reserves that isn’t being used, then you really haven’t been on domestic reserve in a while, have you?
Of course, you know all of this, but it doesn’t affect you, so fook everyone else, right?
Company troll or if you’re actually a pilot, you’re a management wannabe and a sycophant. Go back to your MEC buds, and say hi to Scott K.if you see him.
Ps- I would tell you to GFY, but I might get dinged, so don’t GFY.

^^^^THIS^^^^
Remember, EVERY SINGLE 5-day and 6-day silo can, and will, turn into a 4-day silo. Unless you happen to get a 3-day block of reserve days, which is typically one time in a month based on scheduling rules, every other block of reserve days turns into a 4-day silo. Devil is in the details, boys and girls.
