Remember UPS is a trucking company. Everything we have on our jets the IPA had to fight for. Yes, that includes lavs, water bottles, hot pots etc.
Many have no clue the differences and it’s always amazed me how many think you guys have PBS as well.

That’s the difference right there. At UPS the DZ types here would be out of the union and off the seniority list. You are either IPA or you are management. ALPA is not a pilots union. They are a huge pilot members association with line pilots and offline managers who are willing to hand out discipline to fellow association members in their membership. Which should be an article 8 issue but ALPO loves that dues money!!

Any 1-3 year pilot at UAL not applying to FedEx and UPS clearly does not know contracts and history nor retirement credits.

UPS should be doing pilot interviews at the Doubletree in DEN and catching new hire UAL guys/gals knowing they are very hirable and all backgrounds are solid.
UAL is hiring guys with quadruple 121 failures now apparently so I'm not sure about that last sentence.

I agree with your points about ALPA. We have the same issue(s) with ALPA over at FedEx.

Well I can’t say I know anything about quadruple 121 failures. I’d be suspect of that. All I can say is in my 20+ years in the left seat I’ve flown with nothing but sharp pilots and never came close to thinking an FO didn’t do a good job with both flying and non flying skills. But if comments like that are warranted or make one feel like they fly with a better group of colleagues for their own ego then so be it. I have no idea. But again, I’d be real suspect of the validity of that comment. But in the times I’ve jumpseater on both FedEx and UPS out of Ft Smith or Little Rock all their crews and UPS crews were solid men and women just as I’ve found UAL crews to be.
