it worked out for the American flight attendants when they went out on strike 4 years prior to the pilot strike. It also worked out great for the Northwest pilots the following year when they were allowed to strike. Clinton was 2 for 3. That’s a .667 batting average. 🤙🏼 I’d bet Smoking Joe would bat 1000 😎

Uh, it’s worked quite a bit. I know from personal experience. Some airlines are sensitive to negative press (SWA) while others could care less (NK).
Picketing also displays pilot solidarity to management. You don’t think 1398 SWA pilots picketing a couple of days ago at Love Field sent a message to management?
I hope you guys vote this garbage TA down by a whopping majority. THAT will also send a crystal clear message to your management.

The solidarity statement is definately fact. But as you said some airlines could care less.
Still doesn’t mean they won’t just kick the can down the road with the same status quo.
I pray this has an overwhelming majority no vote and hopefully when it comes for a TA2 for them, it’s an improvement.
An improvement for them will mean and improvement for all.

I’m curious why the Vacancy bid close date had to be extended based on this concessionary TA. Can anyone find anything in this TA that would change someone’s mind as far as bidding…other than to decide NOT to bid based on WORSE reserve rules?

I withdrew a bid in one of the famous “unfilled vacancies” after reading the language. And I live in one of the coastal cities that have the most.

This contract contains 1.3B in GAINS. Concessionary would be like the COVID LOA, where many current chest thumpers voted to give up 1/2 their guarantee.

Also, to your point, since the 1997 APA PEB, in 100% of the five cases when “major” airlines were released from mediation and exited their cooling off period, neither the president nor Congress intervened: Northwest, Comair, Polar, World, and Spirit.

I hope that this thing gets voted down huge, but as we all know, the yes voters WILL NOT reveal that EVER. So even though the polls show a 90/10 NO vote I’m betting it’s going to be close and go either way. People vote yes out of fear, all debted up and stressed out.
But this thing needs to go down 90/10 if we want something better. 100/0 would be better. I only have 3 years left but I’d rather ride out the current contract then vote for this turd.

I don’t think that means that this TA is +$1.3B net to the pilot group though. Just means that no one took the time to monetize all the givebacks this thing has in it and give you guys the complete finacial picture. Please don’t fall for an MEC pro heavy presentation that doesn’t fully represent the complete agreement. I don’t work there and i fear that I’ve ready more of your TA than too many of the guys that work there. Please vote this crap down and not be the anchor that weighs down the rest of us.
