The increased training pay came out of nowhere, but it’s great to see.
Pay rates were already leaked, so we knew what to expect there.
Retirement is staying at 16%. I’ve been saying that for years. Anyone who thought that would increase this contract was setting themselves up to be disappointed. The retirement dollar amount we get will increase thanks to the pay raises
PSC is going away. We knew that as well. Anyone who thought that would stay long term was setting themselves up to be disappointed.
We get a signing bonus. That’s typical. Full retro never happens, and anyone who thought we would get that was setting themselves up to be disappointed.
I will have to see the scope language. My big thing on scope is I don’t want RJ’s replacing our current flying. However, if some scope increase is tied to future growth, that’s ok. We need to feed the hubs. If some small town can’t support a 320/737, then I’d rather capture those pax via an RJ, rather than not have service. 50 seat RJ’s are going away eventually, so a slight increase in 76 seaters tied to mainline growth is reasonable. Let’s increase our passenger base so we can fly more people and get more profit sharing.
I’m a little concerned by the people saying I’m not an LCA or PI, therefore they shouldn’t get a raise. This AIP will significantly help the operation, which will increase our profit sharing, and our commuting and non-reving experience. So yes, we all get something out of the LCA’s and PI’s getting a raise.
Like anything, let’s wait until we see the final details to make up our mind, but I would be leaning towards a YES vote with these details.

if full retro NEVER happens, and you said NEVER, then how did Delta get it on their last go around?
Keep your low expectations and standards to yourself.
Every leak has been underwhelming at best. The MEC vote will be the indicator. Anything other than unanimous shouldn’t see the the light of day.

Since when has the MEC not voted unanimously? My expectations this once in a career contract are low. Why ? Because ALPA doesn't have the guts to demand that this profession deserves to return to the old days of lifelong financial security and fight to get our pensions back. Pilots get caught up in pay rates , scope , age 65 etc and lose sight of the big picture and management just laughs at us as they should. This AIP will be just another slap.in the face nothingburger. No pre judgement here just living in reality.
Good luck we are all going to need it.

Our vacation pay is a pure insult harkening from the days of bankruptcy. In fact, a lot in our contract is insulting. I guess upgrades, shiny new jets, a bunch of smiles and conversation of taking over the industry wins every time.

You guys can talk about bananas for all I care. I was just confirming for him that FedEx does indeed get 6 hours of pay per vacation day.
And the pensions is $130k/yr after 25 years of service.
