OK, let's say 5%'er, which starts at $200k. That is 95% better than the rest of the country, which is already the richest in the world.

I have plenty of respect for my profession. But to say we're underpaid, have poor retirements, etc is being a little disingenuous. Plenty of other careers with as much, or more responsibly as what we have that make a lot less.

But this is APC, so trying to have a logical argument on here is like herding cats.

I'm voting no unless we get cinnamon rolls with our crew meals.

Those cookies they warm up with chocolate in the middle in first class every so often.

I will gladly trade away the pony for those in every crew meal.

I didn't mention anything about voting no. Not a word. I haven't seen the TA. I just pointed out that what you said in your post was wrong. But you're the logical one and others are "disingenuous?"

Most ER docs save more lives in one day than 99% of pilots will in their whole career. I love my job and I don’t want to leave money on the table (because the company can absolutely afford it), but be careful with this notion of “deserve.” Take all that you can… And then be grateful for it

Degrading our career based upon another group that has less. Keep it up and we’ll be that group. Simply dumbfounded by those willing to sell this profession short.

10 or so posts ago Pilot4000 said "Nothing wrong with that, but the majority of the country has a lot more things to worry about on a daily basis than we do." The majority of the country aren't practicing ER doctors. In my reply to him I didn't mention ER docs. So what's the motivation for mentioning ER docs in your reply to me? I said we have a responsibility that most of the country doesn't.

Problem is we’re not compensated for what happens day in and day out. We’re paid for that one bad day and the skill to be ready when it happens. We’re paid for rapid decisions that alter the chain of events. We’re paid to prevent what the ER docs see every day.

We should be paid for both. It takes skill to complete a safe flight, every time.

I just want the rest of the pilot group to speak up and demand significant improvements. That does not make me anti union just the opposite.
You say pilots stay due to having no pension but that is not reality. Our average retirement age at FedEx has consistently been around 64, per union information sent out. Even when the A plan was a 50% income replacement with a B plan on top of that.

Once you get a pension the new excuse will be that it is not enough and because of this they must stay. You will fight to raise it and once again they will stay. It’s an evolving argument and a pilot, for the most part, will always find a way to justify staying until the bitter end.
