Maybe he's shooting for the airline equivalent of a "Corporal Klinger section 8".... in which case he is making a good case.

Honestly, do you need clarification about this?

AA has sucked for at least 20 years. But pilots are competitive by nature and it can be hard to come to terms with the fact that you work for a second rate airline. A large percentage of our group (AA, US, AWA) has been beaten into submission over the past two decades.

Not "shooting" for any effect. I don't pretend to think I have that kind of power. What I would like to is more pilots that don't live in the past and start looking into the future. The defeatist attitude here is off the charts. No reason pilots should not negotiate a better retirement package and that's I'm saying. Let management manage the airline around the contract. BTW ALPA back in 2018 said this round was where we get a pension like plan back. Friday we find out.

One man's defeatism is another man's realism. Given your remark looking at Delta's no vote and the rapid turn around as an example to support your opinion is, perhaps, a bit hypocritical, no?

Realism or negotiating to benefit the company with the notion of possible trickle down gains for the pilot group? I’m seeing a lot of the latter and thinking it’s a quite dangerous path to go down.

Where are you seeing that? Are you talking about this TA or previous agreements? I understand the concept you're describing, but trying to see what you're tying it to.
