I would say among the legacies ours are the worst, but the time spent on reserve as a new hire is short at a junior domicile.

Yes and no. After in base lineholders get it picked at the 1055 run. If it’s still there, game on. Out of base lineholders gets to pick it up at 1300 if the reserve didn’t make it a no steal trip. Crew desk assigns reserves at around 1330.

In any case, it’s not the same same as getting trips on days off.

5-E-7-b For Basic Reserves available for the full Bid Period, schedules shall be constructed with a maximum of
four (4) periods of days off, consisting of not less than two (2) days each. The first day of one (1) of the
day-off periods shall be an FDO and the remaining days off shall be HDOs.
5-E-7-c For Basic Reserves available for a partial Bid Period, schedules shall be constructed with a maximum of
four (4) periods of days off, consisting of not less than two (2) days each. Such a Reserve may be assigned a single day off in order to provide one (1) day off in a seven (7) day period if the reserve line cannot be constructed with the minimum two (2) days off requirement or as a result of prorated days. The first day of one (1) of the day-off periods shall be an FDO and the remaining days off (if any) shall be HDOs. [See tables published later in this chapter.]
