I think the videos are great and he seems genuinely personable and wanting to educate people about his job.
Only question I have is: who does he get to do all the following shots while walking around? :-)

He generally comes out to the airport on his time off to do most of his work and is friends with a lot of people who have SIDA badges and are willing to lend a hand.

Ha! I couldn’t decide if he was swol or if he was taking in the sleeves.

He presents a good image and it’s cool to see his entire career path is documented on YouTube (kids today!). I’m sure UAL has some say in what footage using the company brand makes it onto YouTube. However, I wonder how the YouTube monetization works using UAL’s brand, as an employee, on a personal channel.

Tangential, and not a slam on Swayne. But I wonder if people that are doing the same things, whether he or others, had to suck of the dark decade would keep making videos? Going on about being stuck in the right seat at a regional for years, being income/career stagnant, being max's out on the RJ FO pay scale, downgrades/base closures, etc?

Taking a stab at it, I'm sure they handle it the EXACT SAME WAY his former employer handled it.

I wouldn't doubt that they went to him with legal documentation in hand begging him to do the same thing he did as his previous job.

I didn't see his First 100 hours video casting any negative shadows on our company or profession. It is nice to see someone so enthusiastic about their new job. I hope he maintains his positive outlook when his career expectations takes a hit during future desperate times in this industry. The day will come when we flirt with things like Chapter 11, downsizing, furloughs, and mergers among other things again.

On another note, bashing him for his limited 121 experience isn't really fair. There are lots of flying jobs out there that don't include 121 time that bring a lot to the table. I haven't ever heard anyone bashing single seat fighter pilots for their lack of 121 time or experience working as a crew. There are plenty of pilots whose resumes look great but then they open their mouths and let their egos do the talking at the interview.
