Coming from a guy who had to get through Dee Dee "the axe lady" Brown..... I'm jealous! No interview? wow. So simple, even a cave man (or Mesa Pilot) could do it. Congrats to all future flowees.

Unfortunately, "Up to" 24% of pilots at my company can still technically mean 0%. I think this is just another way to keep people at the regionals. I sincerely hope I'm wrong though. I''d be glad if it was 10%/yr realistically

All flows are a delay tactic designed to keep the regional staffed so the C scale can continue.

Entitlement mentality. Flying the 1500 hours is nothing. It wasn't long ago most had 5,000 to 8,500 hours before getting hired.

both statements are accurate. Yes, flows are designed to be the “carrot” that keeps people at the regionals. And yes, 5k or more is/was normal new hire stats.

The fact is that there’s less folks out there that are willing to be pilots, regardless of what we all think of the cool job or lifestyle. Best way to go about it is to mentor the new generation and not be bitter about their lower times.

This. Don’t hate the player, hate the game.

both commercial and ATP certificate numbers are up, though 🤔 a little stagnation through the pandemic but generally trending upward over the long term

And that being said, the point is, obtaining 1500 hours is still not that big of a deal if you dedicate yourself to it you’ll be there in about a year and a half or so after getting all your ratings through CFI.
