Do you happen to know what the other offerings were. Somebody elsewhere said only 756/777/787 which I find hard to believe. 62 new hires need to be spread out across as many fleets as possible to keep the whole thing moving.
With as backed up as OEs have been, next summer is going to be very interesting!!! Folks that start in March won't be available till after the summer at this rate

It’s not like a LCA will just sign them off as soon as they have the minimum hours. The sign off means that they’re ready and if it takes someone a few more hours to get there, the training department and LCA’s will make sure that they get the time and training that they need to be safe and comfortable. Like you said, we don’t hire inexperienced pilots.
Bingo. Lots of concerns that are a stretch. We have plenty of checks and balances.

I’m not denying that there are a few that luck out and get hired with very low experience, but the vast majority of people are highly qualified. As this hiring wave continues though, I’m sure that the experience level of our new hires will decrease as desirable candidates become harder to find.
