What is the quality of life like in the B777 RSV EWR SIC?
I've heard during "normal times" it's easier to "avoid work" than with the narrow body fleets on reserve.
Is this true?

Today is the perfect day to analyze reserve utilization since it’s the last day of the bid month. During these “non normal times” it’s certainly even easier for reserves to avoid work.
There are 73 reserves available today in the various silos. Of those 73 only 3 were able to earn the extra 5 hrs of pay by sitting 5 unused SCs! A surprising number. 19 of the 73 have sat 0 SCs. Now some of these are just finishing OE and have flt hrs above the standard. Of the 73 11 have 0 hrs this month. Probably more but it’s hard to figure if someone with low hours are just their vacation days. So its safe to say that those with 0/0 haven’t set foot in EWR this month. Nice!
Other factors keeping reserves from flying, low credit hrs allows line holders to pickup open trips and remain legal. Also these days a majority of the few open trips are going to reserves that need to consolidate. I foresee this continuing for the foreseeable future.
So again, even if you want to work, it will be hard. You can plan on quarterly TK trips though.
