Agree. The pivot away from RJ flying is long overdue for many reasons, I'm just curious when it starts to move towards the 10% goal. Is it a one for one with new/used jets arriving? I'd like a timeline. We are still getting around 25 used 73G, and another 30-ish used 319s. Add that to the 270 and the NB # grows even bigger.
interesting, I wonder what happened to the Easy Jet birds. thought these would be well maintained and nice additions. we turned down several of the China 319s because the maintenance/records/parts wasn't good, so maybe this is the same. And we haven't exactly blazed a trail getting the Air Tran/SW 73Gs on line so I'm wondering if that will go through. Cheers

I think a big issue is the fact that the EasyJet birds are CFM powered. I guess pre-Covid this was a worthy investment, but now that we’re trying to save cash it’s better to part them out to keep the current (IAE) aircraft flying. Fifi is still a good frame, but ours are old and need lots of TLC.

Scope actually got so bad that a significant number of guys with flow or interview rights at CAL decided to stay at ExpressJet. No one has a crystal ball and I know it was their life and their choice. Many of them have no regrets. But I regret for them. I mourn for them. The sadness comes in waves and near its peak the suffocating weight and darkness too great to bear. We can never relax scope like that again. Ever. Guys, I'm crying right now.

I've also read that for new vs used aircraft, the up front costs are greater to buy used aircraft vs new since you can do a sale/leaseback on a new aircraft. I don't know if that's true or not; just what I've read. Take it for what it's worth.
