For a reference point, the Spanish Flu took ~2 years to run its course. No vaccine, just natural herd immunity. It will probably be the same with Covid.

heard immunity by getting the disease…the strongest survived…i bet the 50 million that died would have loved a vaccine. 😏

I'm going to let you in on a little secret. I'm going to die, you're going to die, and everyone you know is going to die. Let's stop treating death like it can be avoided. If Covid doesn't get you, something else will.
... or are you one of those people who believe in vampires, zombies and werewolves?

I've had it. Most of my family members have had it. I'd venture to guess I know at least 30 people who have had Covid. Zero deaths, zero hospitalizations.

kind of the embodiment of the fact that our discourse is now simply saying anything that will get under the other side’s skin. And certainly not worrying about what is true, factually evident, practical, moral or taken to its logical conclusion would have a shred of usefulness in the real world.

The lethality of the flu was greatest in the 20 and 30 year olds. Something which puzzled researchers until they discovered that the virus which often went to the lungs generated a powerful immune system attack. So powerful, that those with the strongest immune systems were killed by it's own response. The battle was waged in the lungs and it was sometimes a very quick death. A healthy non-symptomatic person could be dead in 12 hours.
Yes it was eventually herd immunity but no it was not Darwinian in that the strong survived.
