Good idea.

I have my original vaccine card next to my Yellow CDC immunization record card. They are in my wallet for my passport. I do not leave home without them.

If it’s science you’re concerned about realize there’s still a lot we don’t know about recovery from the virus and immunity. Does everyone develop the same level of immunity, and if not, are variations in immunity connected to the severity of your fight with the virus? (I.e., if you were asymptotic or had mild symptoms, does that mean you a have a stronger immunity against COVID, or that you weren’t exposed to enough viral load to develop a robust immune response?) We’re still looking for answers.

I’m not trying to say that you definitely need the vaccine if you’ve had COVID, but people should understand that we still don’t have scientific answers to many of these questions before deciding that they necessarily don’t.

I just chose a random number, but I honestly that covid will be a distant memory in 5 years making the vaccine moot

I disagree. There will be a covid shot yearly in the fall out of this situation. It’s not going to be a one shot and your done ordeal. Too much money to be made

How is it possible to develope a vaccine for a virus the world knows so little about? Whats next a vaccine for a virus that dosent exist yet. Maybe im off the rails.

You’re not off the rails, you’re just not a scientist. Nor am I.

But just as I expect the people who walk onto my airplane to trust in my education, training, professionalism, and expertise... I’d be a hypocrite if I did not offer the same up to those who have dedicated their lives to that profession.

This is how a properly specialized society functions.

Do you feel the same when the "news media" sensationalizes an in-flight preventive engine shut down and reports it as if all the pax were close to dying? The media is a very powerful force for the masses....they want to believe the sensationalism...... Runway excursion?....media worthy! "Death imminent!". Go around due to traffic separation? ..."Oh, My!!" Makes the news(sometimes)..... ATC loss of radio comms?.....heard about that for weeks in the media.

Yes, those people trust you, because they have to if they want to fly. Had the virus?....maybe you don't have to blindly "trust" them. Fauci being a media wh@re doesn't help.....signing off on gain of function tests in a Wuhan China virology lab because the USA bans that....doesn't help. Filp flopping on mask wear....doesn't help.

One other big diff. When those people come onto your airplane.....they know that YOU are putting YOUR life in YOUR hands......they are just parasites along for the ride. Their fair assumption is that you do not have a death wish.....so they board. What is the percentage of scientists that don't trust their brethren and have refused the shot? Hmmmm....so they refused to board the proverbial plane. Consequently, your analogy falls a little short of the mark IMHO.

BTW....I've had the vax....I just don't think the simple solution/analogy you provided is the be all and end all of this thorny dilemma

You don't understand virology and obviously don't have any sort of credentials to back up an educated opinion so why do you feel so strongly about your (wrong) opinions to push them on others? There is some mental disconnect here that is absolutely dumbfounding me. They developed the vaccines based on the idea that cv19 was a "spike" protein and your body would develop a way to recognize and fight viruses with that same structure. If you have had covid there is no way to say which strain you have had or how closely linked to other strains it was. This India strain appears to be worse than the previous South Africa and UK strains but there is also a Brazil strain that was just identified in Jan 21. The spike protein has remained largely the same but there wont be hard data on the ever mutating strains vs the vaccine. So people that have had covid should still do at least a cursory search for real information on the vaccine. Every statement you have made can be debunked with a 5 second Google from a real source.
