I couldn’t agree more. I truly sympathize with what our global pilots have had to deal with on their long layovers away from their homes and families.

That's what I would do.
Only way for the company to really take notice.
The issue is Qantas/JAL/-Insert name here- crews are not inconvenienced to this level, if any, when laying over in the US.
The double standard needs to end.

inconvenience a few thousand folks amd keep your country relatively open and COVID free... kind of a no brainer. That said, if my sleep was interrupted more than once by their policy, I’d fatigue it. Anyone who doesn’t probably shouldn’t be surprised that this protocol persists

Sure have. Treating flight crews as lepers certainly doesn't seem reasonable. Would love to hear all your other historical accounts of where there has been a reaction like this to something with nearly a 99% survival rate and a median age of death in the 70s?
