New Vacancy Bid / Hiring
#41
What is the definition of a “new hire pilot on property?” Probation? BI? After fleet training? When does a new hire pilot cease to be a new hire? Right now it’s a moot point since we have PSP, but new hire wasn’t listed in definitions of UPA. Did the company leave this open to interpretation so they can define it how they want in response to recovery?

where does it say April is the last month? I know we have PSP through Sept but it seemed clear that the suspension of work reductions was tied to “new hires on property”. Seems like that’s a very important definition.

it can’t be any clearer either you are not reading it or you are intentionally trying to stir up a pot that doesn’t need to be stirred.

Wow! Ask a relevant question and I’m a pot-stirrer lol? I’m asking how the company defines that. It’s not clear, that’s why I was asking. You claimed the last reduced month was April which isn’t stated anywhere in any MEC or company communications thus far, and "new-hire on property" also isn’t defined in any company or union communication yet. I sent in a PDR. Maybe you should take your own advice here...

Having read the same company comms as you which clearly state "any time there are new-hire pilots on the property, we’ll be suspending the use of Paragraph I " I think Aviators questions are valid as to what this actually means...Devil and lawyers being in the details and all...
Now I know you're the resident ray of sunshine that's always ready to shine your condescending light on anyone who dares ask a pragmatic question that might burst your bubble, but maybe you should try actually addressing the question or letting someone that actually might have something valuable to bring to the conversation answer.

Sadly, I'm not OldMako so I can't figure out how to *Insert Ostrich with head in sand picture here* to describe how I feel about your post MoP...

I can’t bring anything more valuable than just read the damn thing.

Yes, which is already covered by PSP anyways. When does a “new pilot” stop being a new pilot? This is critical because both comms said new pilots on property is directly tied to reduced work rules/pay. Will new pilots hired in may still be new pilots in October? What’s the definition? It’s not clear at all.
